supernanny

*Valentine's Day/night took place at Thai Chili. The kids actually weren't that impressed, like Chris and I were. I will say that the orange chicken was the most amazing orange chicken I have ever tasted.

*Friday night was movie night at our church. It's an awesome free evening where kids get decked out in P.J.'s and snuggle up on the sanctuary floor to watch a couple Disney movies. Kendall brought the quad girls and they had a great time.

*Cameron has outgrown this event and so he and Chris had a boys' night out. Sonic was on the agenda for dessert. Reeses Blast!!

*I hate being cold, but I hate even more having a house that is stuffy and too warm. I tend to keep our house pretty chilly and prefer to stay warm via blankets and our fire place. Sadly the fireplace is not on the living room side of the downstairs, so it's not the most comfortable to sit on the hard floor.

p.s. In this pic I'm doing some research for our spring break trip we have planned to San Francisco. We are very excited!

*This past week at work was a dream. I always look forward to it. Beaumont schools are out for the week, however my kids still have school. I use it as an opportunity to not only log some days (so I can get out right when summer break starts), but also to catch up on work. I'm the only one in the office and it is such a peaceful, productive week. I also treated myself a few times to...

*I've been looking for something new to watch when I'm doing the recumbent bike. I've discovered old episodes of Supernanny, which used to be a favorite show. Makes the time go quickly!

blue apron

*Today we met Craig/Rebekah and our nieces at John's Incredible Pizza. It's always super fun when we go...but including the cousins kicks it up quite a few notches. :)

*The kids had some giftcards to McDonald's. Since they belonged to them, I told them they needed to do all the ordering and paying. This was a first for Kendall. She got a little flustered, so I stepped in. We will tackle it again. :)

*This past Christmas I asked for a Blue Apron (meal kit delivery service) giftcard. I finally found a good week to schedule our delivery. Kendall was very excited. The food was pretty good, but the experience of doing something like that with Kendall was what I loved most. She was SO into it. Will I pay to continue the service? Probably not (a bit overpriced), but it was a unique and fun gift to get and a perfect mother/daughter experience.

*We've had a sick piggy lately who we think is finally on the mend. We are a, "we don't pay for vets" piggy family, so I've been really happy that he seems to be healing on his own. :)

*I have one cup each weekday and two cups on Saturday and Sunday. During the summer, I plant myself under a ceiling fan because I won't drink a hot drink if I'm even remotely warm.

kettle bells

*One thing that I am a bit compulsive about are my windshield wipers. I HATE when people run their wipers too fast for what the rain warrants. I'm constantly changing the speed of my wipers so that it fits the rainfall.

*Friday night the kids both were gone. Kendall was at a slumber party with church and Cameron was at middle school winter camp. Chris and I went out to dinner at what has become a favorite, Two Guys. The bread is quite possibly the best bread of any restaurant I have ever been to.

We headed home and dove into our newest favorite show, Better Call Saul. It's been on a while, so we are a bit late to the game. It's a spinoff from Breaking Bad.

*The next morning, after picking up Kendall from her party, we headed to Costco. On the list:
-Eggs
-Plain Greek Yogurt tub
-Sharp cheddar cheese block
-Box of Truvia sweetener packets (for work)
-Creamy peanut butter
-Kids multivitiamin gummies
-Frozen riced cauliflower
-Pita bread
-Honey Bunches of Oats
-Thermoflask water bottles
- French bread (from bakery)

Every time we go to Costco, Kendall collects various brochures. She always likes to read them aloud on the way home, which Cameron is NOT a fan of. So this time I told her to take advantage of his absence and read away. She read for the entire trip home. Now I'm an expert on Costco identity theft protection :)

*I was SOOO excited to pick up Cam and hear all about his weekend. He had a blast!

*I bought a new Jillian workout a couple weeks ago, along with a kettlebell that it requires. So far I really like it, but I'm often sore in a way that I can tell I'm doing a move wrong. I'm learning kettle bells can be tricky...

cam's cans

*There have been a few times in which I've attempted to read through the Bible in a year. Each time, I get behind and I never see it through. This year, with my new love of podcasts, I've started the Bible Recap. Basically I do the assigned reading each night, then the following morning (on the way to work), I listen to the 5-10 minute podcast recapping/explaining the day's reading. Have I been consistent every single day? No. But having the podcast has really kept me relatively consistent because I don't want to get too far behind. :)

*What to do with a rainy weekend? We decided to make it a movie Saturday. In the morning we watched the fourth Indiana Jones. To break up our day, we headed to Red Robin for lunch. Later we watched part of Solo, which we will finish tonight. :)

*Cam is on fire with his can collecting. We gave him a goal of how much he has to raise for his new bike. Once he meets his goal, we'll kick in some and hopefully get him a pretty decent bike.

Once he gets several bags, I drive him up to the recycling center and he goes to work.

Chris made him the most awesome business card. When he passes them out, he instructs his clients to text when they have cans. He then comes to pick them up! :)
