what a gyp

Over the past several months, there has been a lot of construction going on in our town over by our most frequented store, Walmart. Chris and I have been so anxious to see what restaurants will be going in. We have been crossing our fingers for something like a Chipotle or a Taco Bell (more for Chris). The signs have been slow in coming, but finally three have popped up and I cannot tell you how annoyed we are at the new arrivals. My apologies beforehand if you like these restaurants...

1. Quiznos- $7 sandwiches that I could easily make at home. Ughh.
2. Panda Express- overpriced Chinese food + we rarely ever eat Chinese
3. Weinersnitchel- do I even need to comment on this one?? Yucky!

There are still many more spaces for lease, however with the economy the way it is, who knows when another restaurant will decide to fill one. Oh well...one can only hope.

Do you know how thrilled I'd be if we got a Quizno's??? That sounds a LOT better to me than Turkish lamb kepabs and schnitzel... what we seem to have here in plenty. =)

But I hear you - it IS pricy, and I doubt I'd do it if we lived there either.

But garsh, it's just so beautifully American-sounding to me at the moment. =) We took a train 45 mins. up to Freiburg last week where there is a Subway. Never frequented it in the states, but it's a beautiful thing to us now. =)

Wouldn't be big on your other 2 choices either. Interesting selection. Hopefully something more fun will pop up there!

Quiznos has this turkey on rosemary sandwich that has some kind of spread on it that is Really yummy and if you order just the cheaper plain turkey sandwich and ask them to put on the spread instead of mayo its like the same sandwich for cheaper. and don't they have some great deal like 5 dollar larges since subway came out with that 5 dollar deal and they tried to match it? anyways, you should try a sandwich with that yummy spread on it and you just might change your mind on quiznos..

I agree, a disappointment indeed!

Dear "Urke family," Why is Subway's meat sketchy? Something we should know?

I think I can answer for Urke. Most Subways I have been to are pretty dingy. So since the actual restaurant is dingy, it makes you a little hesitant about the meat. IMO

eww kelly, i know thats my last name but Please don't refer to me as urke! :) cheryl sounds much nicer.
anyways, subways meat IS sketchy..i can't really explain it but it usually has fat streaks running through it and the color of it just looks like it is old and has been sitting out. I'm sure its actually fine, but it grosses me out.
